Our minimum order is one 40HQ container, and it is quoted as one model in up to two colours. That is the default recommendation for a first order — it keeps the cutting, upholstery and loading runs efficient, so the unit price holds.
Why the minimum is measured in containers
Freight and loading
Sea freight, packing and loading are all planned per container, so the order basis is a container rather than a number of sets.
Fabric and frame runs
Cutting and upholstery are set up per model and per colour. One model in two colours keeps the run clean and the cost stable.
Same standard at any size
Frame, foam D28 / D30 / D35 and 120–150 kg load rating do not change with order size — the minimum is about the container, not about quality.
Repeat orders are simpler
Once a model and colour are on file, the next container reuses the approved specification and moves faster.
How a first container is usually built
Choose the model and up to two colours, and state the destination port.
Confirm the specification; custom sampling takes 15–25 days after details are settled.
Bulk production runs 30–45 days, fastest 25 days. Stock quick runs take 15 days, fastest 10.
Inspection, then loading at Ningbo or Shanghai.

Most retailers open with the best-selling model in two colours, then widen the range on the second container once sell-through is clear.
Limits to plan for
More than two colours on the same model needs to be confirmed with the production line before it is quoted.
Shipping is separate: we confirm production, inspection and loading; the carrier's sailing schedule is not part of the order.
Peak season moves the bulk window, so containers planned around a fixed retail date should be booked early.

Can I mix several models in one container?
The default is one model in up to two colours. If you need a mixed-model container, send the model list and quantities and we will confirm what the line can take for that programme.
Does the minimum change for a custom model?
It stays on the same container basis. A new ODM model adds engineering and testing time, and sampling alone takes 15–25 days after details are confirmed.
How many sets fit in a 40HQ?
It depends on the model and the combination. Your quotation states the load quantity for each configuration, and the order is counted in containers rather than sets.
