Care homes, assisted-living operators and home-care renovation contractors buy lift chairs for one reason: the resident should be able to stand up without a carer lifting them. This page covers what the scene needs, which models fit it, and what the build actually is.
Why the lift function matters in this scene
A power lift chair pushes the seat base forward and upward, so the occupant's knees are not asked to carry the full load from a low, deep seat. That changes staffing: one carer can supervise several residents instead of physically assisting each transfer.
For home-care projects the same logic applies at a smaller scale — an ageing parent in a normal sofa is the most common reason a family buys one.
Who buys this scene
Four buyer types come up again and again: nursing homes fitting out new wings, assisted-living operators replacing worn stock, medical equipment distributors adding a furniture line, and contractors doing ageing-in-place renovation for private clients.
Orders are usually console-free single chairs, because facilities place them in rows and corridors. Double units are possible when a couple shares a room.
What the build is
Frame: high-strength wooden frame or metal frame, S-shaped spring pack, layered filling (foam, fibre, cotton), cut to an ergonomic profile. Foam is D28 / D30 / D35, all virgin foam with no powder filler — that matters here because the chair is sat in for years, not months.
The standard recliner is designed for a 120–150 kg user. Lift chairs can be specified higher per project, depending on the metal frame, mechanism and motor specification.
Models that fit this scene
The lift-chair category currently holds 17 models, all with real photography. Three that suit senior-living fit-outs:
| Model | Why it fits |
|---|---|
| 6005 | Full dimensions sheet available, so facility planners can check corridor and doorway clearances before ordering. |
| 8429 | Light grey fabric cover, the most legible finish for care interiors. |
| 8562 | Compact body for smaller rooms and paired occupancy. |
Configuration is mostly single chairs; doubles can be added to a project order.

Two things to confirm before a care project goes on the line: the exact lift travel required, and whether the facility needs a specific motor specification. Both are project-level decisions, so they are set with the order rather than quoted as a fixed number here.
