Home theatre and private cinema projects do not buy chairs one at a time. They buy a room plan — three rows of four, a back row of two with a chaise on the end, an aisle on the left. This page covers what those buyers specify, which of our models fit a cinema room, and what the build actually is.
Why a cinema room is specified differently
The unit is the row, not the seat. A connected row shares armrests between positions, so the console that carries the cup holders sits inside the row rather than on every chair. Orders are quoted as connected configurations — single, two-seat, four-seat with console — and the room drawing decides which one goes where.
Everything also has to work with the lights off. The cup holder is recessed into the arm so a glass does not slide off in the dark; the control panel and USB port sit on the same face of the armrest, reachable by feel. Where a project includes LED ambient lighting or a reading light, it is wired to the same switch as the recline.
What buyers usually decide first
Four decisions drive the quotation, and they are worth settling before samples are cut:
| Decision | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Row length and aisle side | How positions are connected and where the console falls in each row |
| Power or manual | Motor count per row, and whether a wall-hugger mechanism is needed where rows sit close to a wall |
| Console or no console | Whether cup holders and storage are shared between two seats or built into every arm |
| Cover and colour | Air leather and PU for wipe-clean rows; fabric where the room is treated for sound. Dark colours dominate because they disappear when the room goes dark. |
End-of-row chaise units are a common add-on: the same row, one position extended, which breaks up the visual line and gives the room a lounge corner.
Models that fit this scene
The theatre category currently holds eight models with real photography. Four that suit cinema and screening-room fit-outs:
| Model | Why it fits |
|---|---|
| 8379 | Built as a theatre recliner: Bluetooth speaker, wireless charger, reading light, phone holder, cup holder in the arm and LED ambient lighting — the electronics a screening room asks for arrive as standard rather than as a retrofit. |
| 8369 | Quoted in connected configurations from a single seat up to a four-seat row with console (4RRCC). Heating, 8-point massage, a cooled cup holder and USB charging are available on the same chair. |
| 8334 | Lay-flat power recliner with built-in cup holders; photographed here in grey TJB-073. Where a club or hotel needs one accessible position in the row, this model can be specified with the lift function. |
| 8331 | Compact single recliner with the cup holder and USB panel set into the armrest — a shorter footprint for tighter rows. |
Dimensions on record
Three of the four have a written size and carton spec. Sizes are per single seat (1R) and come from the factory detail sheets:
| Model | Product size (cm) | Carton size (cm) |
|---|---|---|
| 8379 | 96 × 95 × 106 | 95 × 82 × 65 |
| 8334-1R | 88 × 97 × 102 | 90 × 76 × 65 |
| 8331-1R | 86 × 95 × 101 | 88 × 76 × 65 |
Seat-to-seat pitch, rake angle and armrest width are set project by project against the room drawing, so they are agreed with the order rather than published as a fixed figure here. Send the plan and we will lay the rows out to it.

Two things are decided with the order rather than quoted on this page: the lift travel if a row needs an accessible position, and the motor specification for the number of seats in a row. Both change with the layout.

Where this has been done before
A UK home theatre seating brand ordered more than 12,000 seats over nine months on this same theatre line — 110 purchase orders, still ordering at the end of that period. The build notes in that case study are the ones that apply here.
